Political Correctness Run Amok

There is an old saying that nobody is perfect. We all have the capacity to be crude and even rude to each other. Is there anyone on the face of this planet that can truthfully say that they have never uttered anything to or about someone else that could be considered disparaging or even abusive. Heaven knows I have. But should verbal faux pas's cost someone their job, dignity and/or self respect? If that question is not being asked about Don Imus, then by all means it should be. For those who have never heard of Imus, he is a TV and radio personality on MSNBC and CBS Radio. Some even refer to him as a "Shock Jock" in almost the same vein as Howard Stern of Sirius. Don Imus recently on his radio program referred to the women basketball players of Rutgers University as "nappy headed ho's". This "sin" became all the worse for Imus because the women he was referring to were black. Now the proverbial "defecation has hit the rotary oscillator". The Reverend's Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson both launched protests and called for Imus to be immediately fired if he did not resign. Imus apologized for his disparaging remarks and very poor judgement on the air. He apologized on the air. He even took the initiative to appear on Rev. Al Sharpton's radio program where he explained himself and apologized again. But here is the caveat: that made no difference to Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson. Likewise all the good works that Imus has performed via his ranch for children afflicted with cancer does not amount to a "Hill of Beans" with either of these two men. Rev. Sharpton has promptly labeled Imus's on air remarks racist and renewed his demand for Imus's ouster. Jesse Jackson has promised to continue to picket outside MSNBC until Imus either resigns or is fired. Well they don't have to worry anymore. MSNBC and CBS Radio both have given Imus the boot within the last few days.

Does this bother anyone but me? Sure Imus let his mouth get the better of his brain and this is not the first time he has done so. What does Don Imus have to do to be forgiven for this social offense? Does he have to crawl on hands and knees with crocodile tears in his eyes before Rev. Sharpton, Rev. Jackson, the Rutgers Women's basketball team and the NAACP to receive absolution? Must he be thoroughly excoriated and figuratively crucified in the media and throughout society until there is not a shred of self worth, respect and dignity left to his name? Must he be "tared and feathered" whilst being "rode out of town on a rail" and subjected to total public humilation for his "crime"? Is there to be no mercy, no forgiveness for Don Imus? These men are supposed to be minsters of God. Whatever happened to the teachings of Christ as stated in Matthew 6:14-15 NIV "14For if you forgive others when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins." It seems to me that the Reverend's Sharpton and Jackson are less interested in preaching from the pulpit, than in playing at politics. If this were about anyone other than Don Imus or any other prominent TV/Radio political commentator, this would not have gone on as long as it has and would have been quickly forgotten. But since Imus has prominent people listening to him and appearing on his show, including Presidential contenders, in their minds he must be made an example of. This reminds me of another bible verse both of these "Reverends" should pay attention to: Matthew 7:1-5 NIV 1"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. 3"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye." Sharpton and Jackson are so quick to go after someone like Imus yet they never say anything against the Rap artists who spew this kind of racist filth everyday and appear on the top billboard 100. Black people can call other black people the N word with impunity, black men can call black women "ho's" with impunity, but if you are a white person and do this, you are immediately made to suffer. These men are nothing but base hypocrites!.

Sharpton and Jackson are ignoring the teachings of their own faith to score political points in the media. Their sole intention is not to address or correct a thoughtless comment made about black women basketball players, but to bring down the "verminous cretin" who dared to call these women "nappy headed ho's", and to bring him down in the most painful and humiliating way possible because Imus speaks his mind and is not politically correct with regard to Sharpton's and Jackson's ideology. Imus is a controversial figure to be sure. He is known for his loose lips and flippant tongue, much in the same way as Ann Coulter, although one could argue that Coulter is much more politically incorrect, incendiary and acid tongued than Imus. However unlike Ann Coulter (who I am a fan of by the way) Imus has at least apologized for his insensitive remarks. Coulter would much rather be boiled in fish oil before she ever uttered the words "I am sorry" for anything she has ever said and I don't even think that Imus is a conservative. Yet the talking heads and liberal pundits are so anxious to tear him apart into little bloody strips to make a point and score points with their bases that they are ignoring the much larger problem in society and all the vile language in popular rap music. When is enough going to be enough. How much blood needs to be spilled on the altars of political correctness before these High Priests of Liberalism are sated? Are any of you as disgusted with this as I am? THROW DA' BUMS OUT!

The Insanity Continues

Well, I am back after a more than three month hiatus. I have not been able to post from work and when I get home, usually the last thing I want to do is get on another computer. Oh well.

Can you believe the latest news on Illegal Immigration? I was watching The O'Reilly Factor a couple of days ago when Bill O'Reilly was talking about two young girls, 17 year old Allison Kunhardt and 16 year old Tessa Tranchant, killed in a drunk driving collision with a 22 year old illegal alien from Mexico named Alfredo Ramos in Virginia Beach, Virginia. What is wrong with our elected and appointed officials and judges these days? Here you have a man who is here in this country illegally. He has four convictions in our courts for three other DUI offenses and another relating to identity theft and yet the judge in at least one of the cases, one Colon Whitehurst, refused to sentence this man to any jail time and in effect let him back out on the streets. Ramos was not reported to the Feds, the INS or ICE (whatever it is called now) and no deportation proceedings were ever begun for him. Now he has killed to beautiful young women whose only crime was being in the wrong place at the wrong time one could argue. To make matters worse the mayor of Virgina Beach, Meyera Oberndorf either is not aware of or is in direct collusion with Police Chief Alfred Jacocks (I hope I spelled his name right) by not allowing the reporting of illegal aliens to the Feds except for egregious situations. I have just one question: Is the murder of two innocent young women by a drunk driving illegal alien not egregious enough for you people?!? On the O'Reilly Factor Bill O'Reilly and Geraldo Rivera got into a knockdown, drag out over this issue and it just made me sick that Geraldo was taking up for mayor Oberndorf and advocating unrestricted entry into this country. This man, Ramos should have been locked up and then when his time was up, he should have been hauled up by his collar and thrown out of the country.

In my last post I mentioned the case of Miguel Padilla, another illegal alien responsible for the murder of a US Marine (Stephen Heiss) and two other people. This man was also let back out on the streets when his crimes were plead down to misdemeanors and he was not deported either. I sincerely hope that I am not the only one that situations like this bothers. When is enough going to be enough America? When are we going to get tired of our elected officials playing their politically correct, secular progressive games all to gain political traction with special interest groups? It is high past time, that something is done and unresponsive politician's are brought to heel. THROW DA BUMS OUT!!!!!
